Force Gurkha : If you enjoy thrill and excitement, get ready to buckle up because we are about to thrill you with a brand new vehicle.
With the crossing of Force Gurkha, it is said to possess the pinnacle of off roading capabilities and not only off roads but Himalayas, forests or any other rough and harsh terrain.
But wait, this is not your garden variety, run of the mill SUV with zero capabilities. The force gurkha is the SUV of warriors and people that think outside the box.
Force Gurkha is rugged and possesses no charm, in a world of fashion and brands, it can dethrone kings if given half the chance, it is the everyman’s dream.
This is not a vehicle that performs operations in silence, it rumbles and whines to really make an impression. This is a vehicle that can only be described as ‘How Many Mountains Can You Climb Before You Scream’
It is sheer dominance of power and makes its presence know because it is proud to be force gurkha. This baby can tackle a mountain without a scratch.
Now for the build of the gurkha. The haters will have something to say but in the words of sages- who cares. The build along with front grille ensures it maintains an off road look.
However, the wheel arches don’t seem to be simply decorative. They have an equally massive tire (Force Gurkha) encased within, making every average car’s wheels appear substandard and out of shape precisely the opposite of what one expects from automobiles. The side reveals the real magic because of the audaciousness that the vehicle possesses.
But he’s got an enormous snorkel. Yes, a snorkel. Definitely, this is not made for snorkeling. With Gurkha, one may feel like snorkeling, therefore this is not designed for such purposes.
It’s there so that one can cross what seem like the terrifying rivers and streams as if he were striking the ground to forge new continents.
This machine truly deserves to be unleashed, so let’s lift the hood and check what’s under. A bore of 2.0 liters has been implemented into the beast with Force Motors enabling an astonishing 90 bhp and 250 Nm torque.
Now, these figures might not seem fascinating if you are accustomed to sports cars, but please keep in mind that the Gurkha wasn’t constructed for racing. It was designed to get work done at its highest efficiency, almost as if restoring the order in a ripping battlefield because of how effortless it pulls.
Certainly, you do not wish to give up control over a Gurkha, so an unparalleled 5-speed manual has been installed to enhance the experience.
It’s as if you have connect wirelessly to the mind of the car, and have control over it with verbal instruction and all it responds is with a grunt and a “Yes, boss!”(Force Gurkha)
But the most impressive one? The 4×4 arrangements with low-range centre transmission box and both axle differential locks.
If these words make no sense I’ll say this in simpler words this car can ascend mountains.
Not in the truest sense (though it might try) but it certainly was built to go through trails that other SUVs might be scared of.
Look inside, and it’s worth the surprise. The inside is not one of those lavish interiors but it’s also not one of those austere war machines.
Long distance travels won’t be a problem anymore as the seats are pretty comfy and there’s enough room on the top for you to put on a cowboy hat or a helmet if that’s what you prefer.
The dashboard is plain rather than extravagant. Everyone has their songs so a touch screen infotainment is a basic need even for people that love adventures.
Don’t think for a second that there’ll be hundreds of buttons and switches. Simplicity is the mantra for the Gurkha- the car which focuses on more-purpose rather than hardware.
One of the most badass features of the Gurkha is the feature allowing the roof to be fully opened. Those of extreme heights tend to get dizzy so these features come in handy.
They’re not only designed for appeal, rather they assist you in surveying the surroundings optimally whenever you find yourself viewing complex landscapes or simply enjoying the scenery.
Like your personal mobile viewing/gallery area.
Let’s not avoid addressing the obvious issue – or should I say the one that is sitting in the parking area which is the Thar.
Of course, the Mahindra Thar seems to be the close rival in the market of the Gurkha and it has been in the news for quite some time. But the Gurkha is even more than the second best.
It’s here augment for a diverse vintage of adventure.
While the Thar has evolved to be unshapely as it is negotiating its way into the off-road market and urban areas, the Gurkha remains a faithful model.
It is excessively robust recalling that buddy who graces an elegant gathering wearing hiking shoes and shows no regard to those in attendance.
But this is where it gets tricky, the pricing. Force Motors has set the starting price of the Gurkha at ₹13.59 lakh (shown room price), which is for all intended purposes approximately the same as the Thar.
I suppose what the Force Gurkha is saying is, ‘This is our worth. Take it or leave it.’
One may ask, “Who is the Gurkha for?” The answer could be someone who places a muddy trail behind a do not enter sign and considers it an opportunity rather than a restriction.
Also a person who finds themselves daydreaming of the weekend fleeing the hustle and bustle of the city’s towering buildings self-centeredly and appealing to his inner self.
They believe that the destination is not the focus of their adventure merging with the journey to it, so it is equally paramount.
But honestly It’s not for everybody billboards aside. Someone who thinks about off-roading while parking at the curb beside their favorite cafe this is a little too much.
Similarly, it is a requirement for the Gurkha to be respected and treated with the courtesy it deserves. Not to mention, a classic example would be a small apartment housing the favorite breed of many the St Bernard.
Otherwise the Gurkha while on road is an enigma. In simpler terms it is an experience unlike any other.
Everything is heavy the steering, the ride, oh and an absolute pleasure for someone savoring wind noise as it escalates at a higher speed.
But for most that is not the point of getting up and out. The aim of the Gurkha is never about reaching point B from point A, but the excitement that comes with the adventure of it all.
It’s about all the A to B journeys, particularly when there is no road linking A to B.
Off road is where the Gurkha really excells. It will scale rocks, cross streams, and go through mud as if it is a mountain goat.
The approach and departure angles are so good that they’ll find you attempting obstacles that would be the undoing of other SUVs.
Fuel economy? Well, let’s just say the Gurka seems to have developed a penchant for diesel. It simply cannot seem to stop drinking it.
Then again, if you are purchasing a Gurkha, fuel economy is clearly not something that you are very interested in.
Far more practical queries like how far can one go on a single tank would be the thing bothering most people, especially when they are in a desolate location.
Let us tackle the tough question first, reliability. Force Motors may not have the brand cachet of some larger names, but they have been making heavy-duty, basic vehicles for quite a while now.
The Gurkha is constructed on a platform that has endured some of the most claustrophobic environments. This is a vehicle that will probably outlast your grandchildren.
So, is the Force Gurkha worth a lot of money? If you are the type who sees a mountain and wonders “I wonder what’s the other side” then yes, obviously, it is worth it for you.
It is not just a vehicle, it is a vehicle of opportunity and a compass to destinies that only a handful have the chance to visit.
To my knowledge the Gurkha was not meant to challenge other passenger suvs; it doesn’t feel the need of taking children to school or running for groceries (but yes it can do that, If you want it to )
It is for the people that hears wilderness cry out for them’s and in turn, most of them feel more at ease and alive when away from large crowds.
In the continuous cycle of automation and increased detachment of cars the Gurkha stands out, rather tells you to take a strong whiff of pure unadulterated mud wreathed wilderness.
It serves as a sustenance for the innate urge to pursue exploration, adventure, and raising the bar high on pursuing challenges.
There is nothing new, so don’t be shocked when a Gurkha passes your street in a frantic pace while it is a mud ball festooned with adventures.
Another individual in search of adventures has returned to the civilization only to look for an opportunity of escaping again.
Do not forget, life is too short for ordinary cars. And with the Force Gurkha, boredom is one adventure you’ll never have to face.
So are you ready to face the wilderness… The Gurkha is here, and an adventure is one shoesome trail away.
